James has held senior procurement, commercial, and operational roles at large international organisations in the aerospace, defence, and transportation sectors. James began his career at Airbus before joining McKinsey as a consultant in the operations and supply chain practice. After McKinsey, James moved to Babcock International where he led procurement for the marine division then to European public transport operator Arriva where he was responsible for transitioning fossil-fuelled bus and rail fleets to cleaner vehicles. Since September 2023 James has been CPO of GKN Aerospace Civil Business. James holds a master’s in engineering from University of Oxford. He has lived and worked in UK, mainland Europe, southeast Asia and North America.
