Camiel recently became senior vice president of IT and digital, and chief information officer at Wintershall Dea. Prior to this, Camiel was Wintershall DEA’s CPO and senior vice president of supply chain. Wintershall and Dea merged activities in 2019 and have formed Europe’s leading independent natural gas and crude oil company with activities across Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. Camiel joined in September 2019 to drive an ambitious integration and transformation agenda, bringing the procurement community together in one global team, globalising and standardising source to pay with an ambitious Coupa software roll out, and delivering merger and integration benefits in collaboration with the company’s strategic suppliers. Recently, Camiel led the transformation design for all corporate non-technical functions and was asked to lead the IT, digital and data activities. Camiel has over 25 years of procurement and supply chain experience in upstream and downstream oil and gas operations. Before joining Wintershall Dea, Camiel enjoyed a long and successful career with Royal Dutch Shell, led local as well as global supply chain activities for Maersk Oil and spent a short stint in Paris with Total Global Procurement after its acquisition of Maersk Oil. This has provided opportunities to live and work in several countries in Africa, Asia and Europe. Camiel is based in Hamburg, Germany.
