George is the head of procurement for Europe at Laing O’Rourke, an international construction and engineering firm. Having joined the company in a procurement role early in his career, George has subsequently played a key role in delivering a variety of iconic construction projects in the healthcare, commercial, rail and science, and research sectors. He was project leader on Crossrail, Thames Tideway and Imperial College programmes before becoming Laing O’Rourke’s head of health, safety and environment in 2020. The company appointed George as head of procurement in January 2024. He’s responsible for development and execution of the Europe hub’s procurement strategy, covering operations, projects and strategic initiatives.
